Basketball Recap: East Union Extends Winning Streak to Three

East Union had won two straight games and Haven Stone did her part to make it three on Tuesday. The East Union Lancers took their game with ease, bagging a 71-32 victory over the Manteca Buffaloes thanks in part to Stone, who went 10 for 23 en route to 23 points and six boards. The dominant performance gave her a new career-high in points.

Another player making a difference was Shebra Rezaye, who went 6 of 11 on her way to 14 points and six rebounds. She is trending in the right direction considering she's improved her point production for three straight games.

Manteca's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Jaesha Dunn, who posted seven points and nine boards. Dunn is also on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last three games she's played. Michailla Springs was another key player, putting up 13 points and three blocks.

East Union has been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 14-6 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 54.0 points per game. As for Manteca, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 6-12.

East Union wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 62-40 win against Sierra on the 16th. Manteca has also already played their next game, a 52-35 loss against Patterson on the 16th.
