Baseball Recap: Columbus North Picks Up Third Consecutive Win

While Columbus North's win against Decatur Central wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Bull Dogs had just enough and edged out the Hawks 4-3 on Friday. The victory was familiar territory for the Bull Dogs, who have now won three games in a row.

Jayden Adorno tossed a big game, striking out seven batters over five innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off two hits (and only one walk). He has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in three consecutive appearances.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Macario Mendez, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with one stolen base and one RBI. That's the most hits he has posted since back in April. The team also got some help courtesy of Daiju Iwaya, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with one run and one RBI.

Columbus North's win bumped their record up to 16-11. As for Decatur Central, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 15-13.

The two teams are set to take part in some playoff action in their next matches. Columbus North will square off against Whiteland at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Decatur Central, they will challenge Center Grove at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
