MaxPreps Northern California Top 30 baseball rankings

These rankings have suddenly become a big party for the West Catholic Athletic League, in its 50th year and stronger than ever. MaxPreps national baseball editor Kevin Askeland said he would list the WCAL as one of the top three leagues in the land this season.

The new No. 1 is a familiar old program in Serra, which is tied for first in the WCAL with rival Valley Christian, which Serra has defeated twice. Serra has won nine consecutive games.

Other teams on a roll include St. Mary's of Stockton with a 12-game streak, Jesuit with an 11-game run and Winters with a 17-game winning streak.
