Given Justin-Siena's advantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 115th, while Casa Grande is ranked 380th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Justin-Siena got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Lauren Keller out in front who scored 17 points along with two steals. Keller is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last three games she's played. Jordan Washington was another key contributor, scoring 12 points along with nine rebounds and four steals.
Justin-Siena is on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last eight matches, which provided a nice bump to their 14-3 record this season. As for Casa Grande, their defeat was their third straight at home, which bumped their record down to 8-9.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Justin-Siena will take on Sonoma Valley at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. Sonoma Valley will be looking to extend their current four-game winning streak. As for Casa Grande, they will head out on the road to challenge Maria Carrillo at 6:00 p.m. on Saturday.
