Carmel is on a six-game streak of home wins, while Westfield is on a four-game streak of away wins: one of those streaks is about to end. The Greyhounds will welcome the Shamrocks at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
Carmel is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Friday. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat Harrison 56-7. The game was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 49-0.

Carmel's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Andrew Pemberton, who rushed for 123 yards on only eight carries. Pemberton's rushing production has been exceptional recently as that marked his fourth straight game with at least 119 rushing yards. Ayden Johnson was another key back, rushing for 82 yards on only nine carries.
Wins are hard to come by when you can't run the rock, something Carmel proved: they limited Harrison to a paltry 0.1 yards per carry. While two picked up at least five total tackles, Emanuel Griffin III stood above the rest. He picked up three sacks and made five total tackles. Carmel didn't have any issues in that department, having averaged 10.2.
Carmel's defense didn't let Lannon Nicoloff, get away unscathed either: they got into the backfield for four sacks. Leading the way was Griffin III with three. Another thorn in Harrison's side was Kaiden Bower, who picked up a sack and made eight total tackles (2.0 for loss).
Meanwhile, Westfield faced Zionsville in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Friday. The Shamrocks breezed past the Eagles to the tune of 48-20. The Shamrocks' offense stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most points they've scored all season.
Westfield's win came from a few key players Carmel will need to keep an eye on. One of the most notable was Baylor Connor, who rushed for 126 yards and one score. Another player making a difference was Aiden Grabowski, who rushed for 57 yards and a pair of touchdowns on only seven carries.
Carmel's victory bumped their record up to 9-1. As for Westfield, their win bumped their record up to 8-2.
Carmel took their victory against Westfield when the teams last played back in August by a conclusive 34-10 score. In that matchup, the Greyhounds amassed a halftime lead of 20-0, an impressive feat they'll look to repeat on Friday.
