The Montgomery Aztecs had to endure a four-game losing streak, but that streak is no more. They secured a 53-48 W over Eastlake on Wednesday. That's another feather in the cap for Montgomery, who also won these teams' last head-to-head.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Montgomery to victory, but perhaps none more so than Paula Zumstein, who dropped a double-double on 24 points and 18 rebounds. That makes it eight consecutive games in which Zumstein has scored at least 25% of Montgomery's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Jordan Whitehead, who scored 15 points along with 7 rebounds and 7 steals.
Several Titans players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Jordyn Worley, who scored 9 points along with 13 rebounds and 4 blocks. Catrice Chan was another key contributor, scoring 14 points along with 8 rebounds.
Montgomery's victory bumped their record up to 5-6. As for Eastlake, their loss dropped their record down to 2-2.
Montgomery will be playing in front of their home fans against Morse at 6:00 p.m. on Saturday. As for Eastlake, they will head out on the road to face off against West Hills at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
