Commodore Perry is 2-8 against Reynolds since February of 2019 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Friday. The Commodore Perry Panthers will head out on the road to square off against the Reynolds Raiders at 7:00 p.m. The pair have had a bumpy ride up to this point with 31 consecutive losses dating back to last season for Commodore Perry and three for Reynolds.
Last Saturday, Commodore Perry lost to Union at home by a decisive 38-22 margin. Commodore Perry has not had much luck with Union recently, as the team's come up short the last two times they've met.
Despite the loss, Commodore Perry got a solid performance out of Lilly Waleff, who scored two points along with eight rebounds and four blocks. Waleff has been hot recently, having posted two or more blocks the last eight times she's played.
Reynolds suffered their biggest loss since December 7, 2023 on Thursday. They were dealt a 46-16 loss at the hands of Mercer. While losing is never fun, Reynolds can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Pennsylvania basketball rankings (they are ranked 613th, while Mercer is ranked 251st).
Commodore Perry's defeat was their 17th straight at home dating back to last season, which bumped their record down to 0-12. That rough patch could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 20.1 points per game. As for Reynolds, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-9.
Commodore Perry came up short against Reynolds in their previous matchup back in December of 2023, falling 32-25. Can Commodore Perry avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
