The Mary Star of the Sea Stars's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their 13th straight defeat. They had to suffer through a rough 47-19 loss at the hands of Saint Joseph. Mary Star of the Sea was down 35-12 at the end of the third quarter, and things only got worse from there.
Saint Joseph found their leader in underclassman Olivia Martinez, who dropped a double-double on 11 points and ten rebounds. Martinez hasn't dropped below eight rebounds for three straight games. Another player making a difference was Sophia Velonza, who scored six points along with seven rebounds and four steals.
Mary Star of the Sea dropped their record down to 2-19 with that loss, which was their tenth straight on the road dating back to last season. As for Saint Joseph, their victory bumped their record up to 13-11.
Mary Star of the Sea does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Saint Joseph also has no future games currently scheduled.
