The third road match was the charm for the Scripps Ranch Falcons, as they earned their first road win of the season. They took down La Costa Canyon 70-51 on Monday. That result was just more of the same for these two, as Scripps Ranch also won the last time the pair played back in February of 2022.
Scripps Ranch's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Daniela Sexenian, who scored 19 points along with six rebounds. Those 19 points set a new season-high mark for her. The team also got some help courtesy of Michelle Kramer, who dropped a double-double on 16 points and 12 rebounds.
Despite the loss, La Costa Canyon still got an impressive performance from Keira Colestock, who scored 18 points. Colestock continues to roll, besting her previous point total in each of the last four games she's played. Ali DiBenedetto was another key contributor, scoring seven points.
Scripps Ranch now has a winning record of 4-3. As for La Costa Canyon, their loss dropped their record down to 5-4.
Scripps Ranch will take on Bayfront Charter in a holiday battle at 6:30 p.m. on Monday at. Bayfront Charter will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps California Rankings (they are ranked 583rd, while Scripps Ranch is ranked 182nd). La Costa Canyon won't have much time to rest: their next game is against San Marcos at 7:00 p.m. on December 12th.
