The Scholars Guild Academy Spartans will challenge the North Georgia HomeSchool Tribe at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. The timing is sure in Scholars Guild Academy's favor as the squad sits on 12 straight wins at home (dating back to last season) while North Georgia HomeSchool has been banged up by five consecutive losses on the road.
Scholars Guild Academy's pitching crew heads into the contest hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Thursday. Everything went their way against Lanier Christian Academy as they made off with an 11-0 win. Considering the Spartans have won eight games by more than seven runs this season, Thursday's blowout was nothing new.

Jacob Chupp made a splash no matter where he played. On the mound, he didn't allow a single earned run while striking out 11 over six innings pitched. Those 11 strikeouts gave him a new career-high. He was also solid in the batter's box, scoring a run and stealing two bases while going 1-for-3.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Henry Rumble, who scored two runs while getting on base in all five of his plate appearances. He has become a key player for Scholars Guild Academy: the team is undefeated when he posts at least two runs, but 6-7 otherwise. Ty Newton was another key player, scoring a run while going 2-for-4.
Meanwhile, after low-scoring totals in their previous three contests, North Georgia HomeSchool brought some dynamite into their most recent match. They blew past Trinity Classical 15-0 on Thursday. With that victory, the Tribe brought their scoring average up to 6.2 runs per game.
Like Scholars Guild Academy, North Georgia HomeSchool also got a great game from a two-way player: Leighton Luck. He struck out six batters over three innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. Luck has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than two hits in three consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, getting on base in all three of his plate appearances with one RBI.
In other batting news, North Georgia HomeSchool got a massive performance out of Jacob Harmon, who scored three runs and stole two bases while going 2-for-2. Another player making a difference was Kirk Dotson, who went 2-for-3 with four RBI, two runs, and one stolen base.
North Georgia HomeSchool kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 12 hits. They are a perfect 4-0 when they post 11 or more hits.
Scholars Guild Academy is on a roll lately: they've won nine of their last ten contests. That's provided a massive bump to their 13-7 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.2 runs on average over those games. As for North Georgia HomeSchool, they moved to 4-13 with that victory, which also ended their four-game losing streak.
The pitchers for both teams better look sharp on Friday as neither team is afraid to steal. Scholars Guild Academy has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 3.2 stolen bases per game. However, it's not like North Georgia HomeSchool struggles in that department as they've been averaging 3.8 stolen bases. The only question left is which team can snag more.
Scholars Guild Academy took their win against North Georgia HomeSchool in their previous meeting back in March of 2024 by a conclusive 15-1 score. Do the Spartans have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Tribe turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
