The Templeton Eagles will challenge the Paso Robles Bearcats at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Templeton is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 6.5 runs per game this season.
Last Friday, Templeton came up short against Washington Union and fell 6-3.
Andrew Raab was cooking despite his team's loss, going 1-for-3 with one home run and one stolen base.
Meanwhile, Paso Robles can bid farewell to their five-game losing streak thanks to their game on Saturday. They blew past Chowchilla 11-3. The Bearcats' hitters stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most runs they've scored all season.
Talen Freitas made a splash while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he struck out eight batters over four innings while giving up three earned runs off four hits. That's the most strikeouts he has posted since back in March of 2024. He was also big at the plate, scoring a run while going 1-for-2.
In other batting news, Marcus Garcia was incredible, scoring three runs and stealing two bases while going 2-for-4. That's the most stolen bases he has posted since back in April of 2024. Jaiden Soboleski was another key player, scoring a run while going 2-for-3.
Paso Robles hit smart and finished the game with only one strikeout. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Chowchilla struck out 11 times.
Paso Robles' victory bumped their record up to 2-5. As for Templeton, they now have a losing record of 5-6.
The batters for both teams will have to hit smart on Tuesday as both have some strikeout artists on the roster. Templeton has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 6.7 strikeouts per game. However, it's not like Paso Robles struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 6.7 strikeouts. Considering how easily both teams rack up Ks, the hitters on both teams better bring their A-game into this one.
Templeton was able to grind out a solid win over Paso Robles when the teams last played back in April of 2024, winning 10-7. Will Templeton repeat their success, or does Paso Robles has a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
