The Quakertown Panthers and the Lower Moreland Lions will face off at 7:00 p.m. on December 21st without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. Quakertown is hoping to put an end to a four-game streak of away losses dating back to last season.
Quakertown scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Wednesday. They put the hurt on Upper Perkiomen with a sharp 46-21 victory. That 46-21 margin sets a new team best for Quakertown this season.
Meanwhile, Lower Moreland waltzed into their match Friday with three straight wins but they left with four. They enjoyed a cozy 76-59 victory over Springfield Township. Having run the score up that high, both teams probably have some extra defensive drills coming up.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Lower Moreland to victory, but perhaps none more so than Briana Mcferran, who scored 22 points along with six rebounds and four steals. Those 22 points set a new season-high mark for her. The team also got some help courtesy of Sydney Santora, who scored 12 points along with nine rebounds and six steals.
Quakertown's victory ended a six-game drought at home dating back to last season and bumped them up to 1-6. As for Lower Moreland, their win bumped their record up to 5-3.
Quakertown was able to grind out a solid victory over Lower Moreland in their previous matchup back in January, winning 42-32. The rematch might be a little tougher for Quakertown since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
