The Baldwin Highlanders came into Friday's match having lost five straight, but that streak is now in the rearview. They managed a 52-48 victory over Canon-McMillan on Friday. This was payback for Baldwin, who suffered a 58-36 loss the last time these two teams met.
When it comes to explaining why Canon-McMillan lost, one person who can't be blamed is Nadia Davis. Despite the final result, she dropped a double-double on 23 points and 13 rebounds. Lauren Borella was another key contributor, scoring 12 points along with five assists.
Baldwin's victory ended a four-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 3-6. As for Canon-McMillan, they dropped their record down to 10-9 with that defeat, which was their third straight at home.
Baldwin does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Canon-McMillan, they will square off against Upper St. Clair at TBD on Monday. Hopefully Canon-McMillan focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up ten on Friday.
