The Edison Chargers's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their fourth straight loss. They fell 50-37 to Pacifica Christian/Orange County. While losing is never fun, Edison can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 922nd, while Pacifica Christian/Orange County is ranked 98th).
Pacifica Christian/Orange County found their leader in underclassman Vivian Villagrana, who scored 26 points along with five rebounds. Villagrana also scored 15+ points for the first time this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Caylie Villagrana, who scored eight points along with five rebounds.
Edison's defeat dropped their record down to 1-9. As for Pacifica Christian/Orange County, they pushed their record up to 10-1 with that victory, which was their fourth straight at home.
Edison will take on Godinez Fundamental at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday. Godinez Fundamental is coming into the game on a five-game losing streak. Pacifica Christian/Orange County won't have much time to rest: their next match is against Marina at 4:30 p.m. on December 9th. Hopefully Marina focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 27 on Thursday.
