The Corinth Holders Pirates won the last time they faced the Cleveland Rams, and things went their way on Friday too. Corinth Holders rang in the new year with a 51-41 win over Cleveland.
Corinth Holders' victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Kamea Davis, who scored 19 points along with nine rebounds and four steals. Davis continues to roll, besting her previous point total in each of the last four games she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Darla Lee, who scored 18 points along with four steals.
Despite the loss, Cleveland saw an underclassman step up: Angelia Dunn scored 22 points along with four steals. Dunn scored a full 53.7% of Cleveland's points, the sixth time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points. Another player making a difference was Izzy Sholar, who scored seven points along with three steals.
Corinth Holders' victory bumped their record up to 8-4. As for Cleveland, their loss dropped their record down to 8-5.
Corinth Holders is on the road again on Friday and play against Willow Spring at 6:15 p.m. on January 12th. Willow Spring will be looking to keep their five-game home win streak alive. Cleveland will take on Garner at 6:15 p.m. on Friday.
