Baseball Recap: Kennedy Wins Going Away Against Hayward

Kennedy not only won on Friday, but they posted their biggest win since March 14, 2024. Everything went their way against the Hayward Farmers as the Kennedy Titans made off with a 17-3 win. That result was just more of the same for these two, as the Titans also won the last time the pair played back in March of 2024.

Abhay Dhaliwal made a splash no matter where he played. He didn't allow a single earned run while striking out nine over seven innings pitched. What's more, he gave up only three hits, the fewest he's had since back in April of 2024. He was also solid in the batter's box, scoring a run while going 2-for-5. The dominant performance gave him a new career-high in hits.

In other batting news, Michael Pickett was incredible, scoring two runs and stealing a base while getting on base in four of his six plate appearances. Pickett is crushing it when it comes to stolen bases: he's snagged at least one every time he's taken the field this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Nick Owsley, who scored two runs and stole a base while getting on base in five of his six plate appearances.

Kennedy always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .577. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Hayward only posted an OBP of .321.

Kennedy now has a winning record of 2-1. As for Hayward, their loss dropped their record down to 1-1.

Kennedy didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next game, an 8-6 defeat against Monte Vista Christian on the 1st. As for Hayward, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next match, a 5-4 loss against Redwood Christian on the 4th.
