The Mt. Carmel Aces will square off against the Casey-Westfield Warriors at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. Both teams are coming into the game red-hot, with Mt. Carmel sitting on three straight wins and Casey-Westfield on five.
Mt. Carmel lost a heartbreaker the last time they played Centralia, but it's fair to say they got their revenge given the result of Wednesday's matchup. The Aces were the clear victors by a 12-2 margin over the Orphans on Wednesday. Considering the Aces have won seven contests by more than nine runs this season, Wednesday's blowout was nothing new.
Asher Coston made a big impact no matter where he played. He tossed seven innings while giving up just two earned runs off three hits. Coston was also stellar in the batter's box, going 2-for-4 with one triple, one stolen base, and two RBI.
In other batting news, Ryder Sloss and River Deisher did most of the damage at the plate: Sloss went 3-for-4 with one home run, three RBI, and two doubles, while Deisher went 3-for-5 with three runs, one stolen base, and two RBI. Another player making a difference was Wade Keepes, who went 2-for-4 with two runs and one stolen base.
Mt. Carmel kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 16 hits. That's the most hits they've posted since back in March of 2025.
Meanwhile, Casey-Westfield never let their opponents score on Monday. They came out on top in a nail-biter against Richland County, sneaking past 2-0.
Casey-Westfield's victory bumped their record up to 11-7. As for Mt. Carmel, their win bumped their record up to 11-4.
Mt. Carmel beat Casey-Westfield 7-4 in their previous meeting back in April of 2025. Do the Aces have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Warriors turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
