Baseball Game Preview: Hueneme Vikings vs. Fillmore Flashes

For the second straight game, Hueneme will face off against Fillmore. The Vikings will look to defend their home field on Friday against the Flashes at 3:30 p.m. Hueneme will be looking to extend their current 11-game winning streak.

Hueneme came out on top against Fillmore on Wednesday thanks in part to the team's impressive five-run third inning. The Vikings put the hurt on the Flashes with a sharp 9-1 victory. Considering the Vikings have won 11 matchups by more than five runs this season, Wednesday's blowout was nothing new.

Steven Hernandez tossed a big game, pitching five innings while giving up just one earned run off five hits. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than two walks in eight consecutive appearances.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Andre Centeno, who went 1-for-3 with two RBI, one run, and one double. That's the most RBI he has posted since back in March. The team also got some help courtesy of Walter Nickerson, who went 1-for-3 with two runs and one stolen base.
