The Arvada Bulldogs will head out on the road to face off against the Denver North Vikings at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
On Friday, Arvada made easy work of Jefferson and carried off a 22-7 victory.
Alyssa Moreno was a major factor while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she pitched 1.1 innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. Moreno was also stellar in the batter's box, going a perfect 3-for-3 with four RBI, two runs, and one triple.

In other batting news, Arvada got a massive performance out of Lydia Anton, who went 1-for-2 with one home run, five RBI, and two runs. Those five RBI gave Anton a new career-high. Salem Duran was another key player, getting on base in all four of her plate appearances with three runs and four RBI.
Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Denver North, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Thursday. They blew past Denver East 14-4 on Monday. The win continues a trend for the Vikings in their matchups with the Angels: they've now won five in a row.
Like Arvada, Denver North also got a great game from a two-way player: Veronica Loera-Tafoya. She looked comfortable on the mound, tossing six innings while giving up just two earned (and two unearned) runs off seven hits. Loera-Tafoya has been consistent: she hasn't given up more than two walks in six consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going 2-for-3 with two runs, one triple, and one stolen base.
In other batting news, Aliana Barela was incredible, going 2-for-3 with three RBI, two runs, and one triple. That triple was her first of the season. Another player making a difference was Barrett Key, who got on base in all four of her plate appearances with three runs.
Denver North was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .393. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .333 or higher in five consecutive matchups.
Arvada's record now sits at 15-3. As for Denver North, their record is now 16-3.
Tuesday's contest might come down to which pitcher can control the ball better. Arvada has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .600. However, it's not like Denver North struggles in that department as they've averaged .529. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Arvada might still be hurting after the 20-10 loss they got from Denver North in their previous meeting back in September of 2024. Can the Bulldogs avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
