Basketball Recap: Coachella Valley Piles Up the Points Against Indio

There's no place like home for Coachella Valley, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Tuesday. They simply couldn't be stopped on Thursday as they easily beat the Indio Rajahs 60-28. The Mighty Arabs have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won 11 games by 26 points or more this season.

Mariah Figueroa was her usual excellent self, dropping a double-double on 27 points and ten boards. Her evening made it three games in a row in which she has scored at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Paulina Lucero, who went 6 for 13 on her way to 14 points.

Coachella Valley smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 15 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least 11 offensive rebounds in six consecutive contests.

Coachella Valley's win bumped their record up to 15-5. As for Indio, they are on a 13-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-14.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Coachella Valley has already played their next match (against Twentynine Palms), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. Indio will face off against Yucca Valley at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
