Softball Recap: Lexington Wins Going Away Against St. Pius X

Lexington's game on Tuesday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Wednesday. They blew past the St. Pius X Warriors 13-4. The result was nothing new for the Minutemen, who have now won six contests by seven runs or more so far this season.

Audrie Bollmeyer made a splash no matter where she played. She struck out nine batters over five innings while giving up just one earned (and three unearned) runs off five hits. Bollmeyer was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-4 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI.

In other batting news, Lexington got a massive performance out of Laniya Davis, who went 3-for-4 with three RBI, two runs, and one stolen base. Hunter Adkins was another key player, going a perfect 2-for-2 with one triple, two RBI, and one run.

Lexington was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .571. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .316 or higher in eight consecutive matchups.

Lexington is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four games. That's provided a nice bump to their 11-9 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 8.8 runs over those games. As for St. Pius X, they have been struggling recently as they've lost four of their last five contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 3-5 record this season.

Lexington will take on Lafayette County at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for St. Pius X, they will challenge Lawson at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
