Despite the loss, LaVille got top-tier performance from Lance Edison, who shot 55% from the field to rack up 25 points and six rebounds. The matchup was Edison's third in a row with at least 20 points. Another player making a difference was Andre Gonzales, who posted ten points and four steals.
Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Manchester, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Friday. They secured a 62-57 W over Tippecanoe Valley on Tuesday. The Squires' offense stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most points they've scored all season.
Manchester's win came from a few key players LaVille will need to keep an eye on. One of the most notable was Wyatt Schroll, who went 8-for-17 on his way to 19 points and five steals. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-high in assists (four). Aaron Reid was another key player, shooting 64% from the field en route to 22 points and six boards.
Manchester was working as a unit and finished the game with 14 assists. That's the most assists they've managed all season.
LaVille's defeat dropped their record down to 3-2. As for Manchester, their win (their first of the season) made their record 1-3.
Tuesday's game is shaping up to be a scrappy contest: LaVille has been crashing the boards this season, having averaged 21.2 rebounds per game. It's a different story for Manchester, though, as they've been averaging only 10.2 boards. Given LaVille's sizable advantage in that area, the Squires will need to find a way to close that gap.
LaVille ended up a good deal behind Manchester in their previous matchup back in December of 2024, losing 62-47. Can the Lancers avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
