After seven games on the road, Chillicothe is heading back home. They will be home for the holidays to greet the Parkview Vikings at 5:45 p.m. on Wednesday. Hopefully Chillicothe focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 17 on Monday.
Chillicothe has made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won three contests by 23 points or more this season. They put the hurt on Southeast with a sharp 52-29 victory. Given Chillicothe's advantage in MaxPreps' Missouri basketball rankings (they are ranked 199th, while Southeast is ranked 441st), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Chillicothe's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from James Mathew, who scored 14 points. The match was Mathew's third in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Sol'jier Allen, who scored 17 points along with three steals.
Meanwhile, Parkview pushed their score all the way to 58 two weeks ago, but even that wasn't enough to win. They took a 69-58 hit to the loss column at the hands of Russellville. Despite running the score up even higher than they did on December 2nd (57), Parkview still had to take the loss.
Chillicothe pushed their record up to 5-2 with that victory, which was their third straight on the road. They've been dominating during the matchups in that stretch too, as they've won by an average of 24.33 points. As for Parkview, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 3-2.
Chillicothe beat Parkview 52-40 in their previous meeting back in January of 2016. Does Chillicothe have another victory up their sleeve, or will Parkview turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
