Metter had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 16 runs) and they went ahead and made it three on Monday. Their pitchers stepped up to hand the Savannah Bluejackets a 16-0 shutout. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 31-0 on Monday.

The win was their first at home , bumping their record up to 3-6. As for Savannah, they are on a six-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-2.

Coming up, a feisty cat fight will be fought as Metter Tigers take on Portal Panthers at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Portal's pitching crew has only allowed 3.7 runs per game this season, so Metter's hitters will have their work cut out for them. As for Savannah, they will head out to face off against Bryan County at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
