The Gregori Jaguars scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Monday. They had just enough and edged Hughson out 67-64. Having run the score up that high, both teams might be doing some extra defensive drills very soon.
Gregori's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Alanah Lopez led the charge by scoring 22 points. Lopez continues to roll, besting her previous point total in each of the last three games she's played. Another player making a difference was Veronica Whitten, who scored ten points along with seven rebounds and three steals.
Gregori has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four matches, which provided a nice bump to their 6-5 record this season. As for Hughson, their loss dropped their record down to 3-3.
Gregori will head out on the road to face off against East Union at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. East Union will be looking to keep their three-game home win streak alive. As for Hughson, they will square off against Manteca at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. Manteca is currently enjoying a perfect season and no doubt want to keep things rolling.
