Leadore is 1-9 against North Gem since January of 2015 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Monday. The Leadore Mustangs will head out on the road to challenge the North Gem Cowboys at 5:30 p.m. North Gem took a loss in their last contest and will be looking to turn the tables on Leadore, who comes in off a win.
Leadore's four-game losing streak came to an end on Friday. They took down Grace Lutheran 61-47. The victory was just what Leadore needed coming off of a 64-44 loss in their prior match.
Leadore's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Taylor Ayers, who scored 13 points along with six assists and two blocks. Another player making a difference was Mason Herbst, who scored 17 points along with six rebounds and four steals.
Meanwhile, North Gem pushed their score all the way to 55 on Thursday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They fell to Mackay 61-55.
Leadore's win bumped their record up to 4-9. As for North Gem, their defeat dropped their record down to 9-5.
Leadore beat North Gem 45-38 in their previous meeting back in January of 2023. Will Leadore repeat their success, or does North Gem have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
