The York Catholic Fighting Irish can now show off seven landslide victories after their most recent match on Friday. They blew past Biglerville 47-22. Given York Catholic's advantage in MaxPreps' Pennsylvania basketball rankings (they are ranked 72nd, while Biglerville is ranked 306th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Despite the loss, Biglerville still got an impressive performance from Claire Roberts, who scored ten points along with six rebounds and four steals. Roberts is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last three games she's played.
York Catholic is on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 9-5 record this season. As for Biglerville, their defeat dropped their record down to 10-9.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. York Catholic won't have much time to rest: their next match is against Berks Catholic at 2:00 p.m. on January 27th. As for Biglerville, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Hanover at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Hanover is no doubt hoping to put an end to a five-game streak of away losses.
