Milpitas has enjoyed the comforts of home their last four games, but now they'll head out on the road. The Milpitas Trojans and the Independence 76ers will round out the year against one another at TBD on Wednesday at. Hopefully Milpitas is not getting complacent, as they presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Independence in California (Milpitas is ranked 197th, while Independence is ranked 834th).
Last Friday, Milpitas ended up a good deal behind Liberty and lost 64-47.
Meanwhile, after soaring to 55 points the game before, Independence were a bit more limited in their match on Wednesday. They took a serious blow against Cupertino, falling 66-25. Independence was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 38-16.
Even though the team lost, they still had their share of impressive performances. One of the most dominant came from Joshua Villanueva, who scored ten points. The match was his seventh in a row with at least ten points.
Milpitas has traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost three of their last four games, which put a noticeable dent in their 6-3 record this season. As for Independence, their defeat dropped their record down to 3-6.
Milpitas came up short against Independence in their previous meeting back in December of 2022, falling 76-68. Can Milpitas avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
