Maxwell is 0-8 against Los Molinos since February of 2015 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Tuesday. The Maxwell Panthers will be playing at home against the Los Molinos Bulldogs at 5:30 p.m. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.
Maxwell suffered their closest defeat yet this season on Tuesday. They fell just short of CORE Butte by a score of 43-41. It was the first time this season that Maxwell let down their fans at home.
Maxwell's loss came about despite a quality game from Emma Hendrix, who dropped a double-double on 19 points and 11 rebounds. Hendrix hasn't dropped below eight rebounds for eight straight games. Camila Hernandez was another key contributor, scoring eight points along with four steals.
Even though they lost, Maxwell smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 14 offensive rebounds. That's the most offensive rebounds they've managed all season.
Meanwhile, Los Molinos' recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their third straight loss. They took a serious blow against Hamilton, falling 56-21. While losing is never fun, Los Molinos can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 1159th, while Hamilton is ranked 557th).
Maxwell's loss ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 5-5. As for Los Molinos, they have not been sharp recently, as they've lost five of their last six games, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-15 record this season.
Maxwell came up short against Los Molinos in their previous meeting back in February of 2023, falling 37-28. Can Maxwell avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
