Baseball Recap: Five Straight Home Victories for Riverdale

While Riverdale put up plenty of runs on Monday, the same can't be said for Cedar Grove. The Raiders were the clear victors by a 20-0 margin over the Saints. The Raiders might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won eight matches by six runs or more this season.

Jacob Rachmann was a major factor no matter where he played. On the mound, he didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit while striking out ten over four innings pitched. He has been consistent : he hasn't given up more than one hit in six consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, going 2-for-3 with two triples, three runs, and four RBI. Those two triples gave him a new career-high.

In other batting news, Keith Demps was incredible, going a perfect 4-for-4 with five stolen bases, five RBI, and two runs. Those five stolen bases gave him a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Aiden Crittenden, who scored three runs and stole four bases while going 2-for-3.

Riverdale was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .545. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .333 or higher in seven consecutive games.

Riverdale's victory was their fifth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 10-5. The home wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 13.8 runs over those games. As for Cedar Grove, they are on an eight-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-13.
