The Excelsior Charter Eagles had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 13.5 points), and they went ahead and made it three on Friday. They came out on top against Apple Valley Christian by a score of 29-16. That result was just more of the same for these two, as Excelsior Charter also won the last time the pair played back in December of 2023.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Excelsior Charter to victory, but perhaps none more so than Jazynda Juneau, who scored ten points. That makes it three consecutive games in which Juneau has scored at least a third of Excelsior Charter's points. Allie Raygor was another key contributor, scoring eight points.
Despite the loss, Apple Valley Christian still got an impressive performance from Jocelynn LoPorto, who scored ten points. As a matter of fact, that's the most points LoPorto has scored all season.
Excelsior Charter pushed their record up to 8-5 with that win, which was their fourth straight on the road. As for Apple Valley Christian, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-5.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Excelsior Charter will face off against Victor Valley Christian at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Victor Valley Christian comes in on a streak of failing to score more than 15 points in their last four games, a trend the squad is of course eager to reverse. As for Apple Valley Christian, they will head out on the road to square off against Academy of Careers & Exploration at 5:30 p.m. on Friday.
