The Wood Wildcats's game last Wednesday was a tough loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Friday. They strolled past Rodriguez with points to spare, taking the game 50-32. For Wood, this counts as revenge for the 55-54 loss Rodriguez walked away with the last time they faced one another back in February of 2023.
Wood's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Natalia Sanchez, who scored 13 points along with seven rebounds and six steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Mikyah Dixon, who scored eight points along with 14 rebounds and two steals.
Wood now has a winning record of 10-9. As for Rodriguez, they have been struggling recently, as they've lost three of their last four matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 6-12 record this season.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Wood will take on Grant at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. Grant presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Wood in California (Grant is ranked 105th, while Wood is ranked 514th). As for Rodriguez, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Fairfield at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
