The Roxborough Wolves entered their tilt with the Math Civics & Sciences Mighty Elephants with eight consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with nine. Roxborough enjoyed a cozy 43-27 win over Math Civics & Sciences on Wednesday. That's another feather in the cap for Roxborough, who also won these teams' last head-to-head.
Roxborough's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Jaylah Holmes, who dropped a double-double on ten points and 13 rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Inaya Staten, who scored 11 points along with four steals.
Math Civics & Sciences lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Kayla Robinson, who scored nine points.
Roxborough pushed their record up to 9-2 with that win, which was their ninth straight at home. As for Math Civics & Sciences, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 3-2.
Roxborough will be playing in front of their home fans against Murrell Dobbins Vo-Tech at 3:15 p.m. on Monday. Hopefully Murrell Dobbins Vo-Tech focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 17 on Wednesday. Math Civics & Sciences will be staying on the road on Monday to face off against Thomas A. Edison at 3:15 p.m. on January 22nd.
