Make it five blowout wins for the Walton Warriors this season. They simply couldn't be stopped on Friday as they easily beat Oxford Academy 54-22 at home. The contest was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 30-10.
Walton found their leader in underclassman Grace Walley, who dropped a double-double on 22 points and 11 rebounds. That makes it five consecutive games in which Walley has scored at least a third of Walton's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Kennedy Williams, who scored 12 points along with five rebounds and five steals.
The victory makes it two in a row for Walton and bumps their season record up to 7-5. As for Oxford Academy, their loss dropped their record down to 1-1-1.
Coincidentally, the pair will both be playing Delaware Academy the next time they take the court. Walton will head out to face Delaware Academy at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday, while Oxford Academy will host them at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
