The Seneca Valley Screamin' Eagles scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Tuesday. They walked away with a 74-65 victory over Richard Montgomery. The win was all the more spectacular given Seneca Valley's disadvantage in MaxPreps' Maryland basketball rankings (they are ranked 219th, while Richard Montgomery is ranked 57th).
It was another big night for Korey Trone, who dropped a double-double on 17 points and ten assists. He continues to roll, besting his previous point total in each of the last four games he's played. Bryan Sowell was another key contributor, scoring 13 points along with three steals.
The win makes it two in a row for Seneca Valley and bumps their season record up to 4-9. As for Richard Montgomery, their defeat ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 8-5.
Seneca Valley and Magruder will face off at 7:15 p.m. on January 26th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. One thing working in Magruder's favor is that they have posted big point totals in their last three contests. As for Richard Montgomery, they will face off against Wheaton at TBD on Friday. Wheaton is hoping to put an end to a four-game streak of away losses.
