Fremont has gone 9-1 against Locke recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Thursday. The Pathfinders will welcome the Saints at 3:00 p.m. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Fremont has five straight wins, Locke has nine straight losses), but none of that matters once you're on the field.
Fremont's pitching crew heads into the game hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Monday. They were the clear victors by a 10-0 margin over Harbor Teacher. Considering the Pathfinders have won ten matchups by more than five runs this season, Monday's blowout was nothing new.
The result came thanks to Isaiah Velez's shutout, as he gave up just two hits and racked up ten Ks. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in six consecutive appearances.
On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Roiber Colmenares, who got on base in three of his four plate appearances with two stolen bases, three runs, and two RBI. Another player making a difference was James Harris, who got on base in all four of his plate appearances with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI.
Fremont hit smart and finished the game with only one strikeout. The team has now struck out at least five batters in three consecutive contests.
Meanwhile, Locke fell victim to Dorsey and their airtight pitching crew on Monday. They lost 15-0 to the Dons. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest defeat the Saints have suffered against the Dons since April 6, 2022.
Fremont's victory bumped their record up to 14-6. As for Locke, their loss dropped their record down to 2-12.
Everything went Fremont's way against Locke in their previous meeting on April 13th, as Fremont made off with a 17-0 win. Will the Pathfinders repeat their success, or do the Saints have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
