The Preseason MaxPreps Top 25 high school softball rankings will be released Feb. 4. Ahead of our look at the nation's top teams, we are identifying the best team in every state entering the 2025 season.
Orange Beach finished the 2024 season as the top-ranked team in the country and will be the favorite from the state of Alabama. The Makos join
Melissa (Texas) as teams who will land inside the top 10 nationally to start the season.

North Dakota
MinotThe Majettes had an up and down year in 2024 but showed signs of being a powerhouse.
Halle Baker is back and was one of the team's top hitters and pitchers. Also back is all-state Sydnee Bartsch, who batted .496 last spring.

Austintown-Fitch (Youngstown)The Falcons finished No. 6 in the final MaxPreps Top 25 and will start the season near the top again in 2025. One of the top players in the Class of 2025 in Georgia Tech
Sydnie Watts is back and a force on both sides of the ball. Class of 2027
Kaliana Ray had a monster freshman season, batting over .700 in 73 at bats.
Oklahoma

Marley Teasley helped lead the Eagles to a 4A title in the fall. She hit 23 home runs, drove in 44 runs and went 21-1 as a pitcher.
Oregon
West Salem (Salem)The Lions finished last season 24-6 overall and fell in the Class 6A quarterfinals. That team was young and will look to go deeper in the postseason as all but three starters return, including the entire pitching staff.
Pennsylvania
Neshannock (New Castle)The Lancers have won 73 of their last 74 games and went undefeated in 2024. Providence College commit
Addy Frye struck out over 200 and finished with a 0.59 ERA. Kent State commit

Rhode Island
La Salle Academy (Providence)Outscored opponents 234-46 to capture a second-straight championship. The majority of that team will be back once again, including eight of the top nine hitters and both starting pitchers.
