Center is 2-8 against Bear River since February of 2018 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Wednesday. The Center Cougars will head out on the road to take on the Bear River Bruins at 7:00 p.m. Center will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps California Rankings (they are ranked 667th, while Bear River is ranked 285th).
Last Friday, Center was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap as they fell 38-34 to Wheatland.
Despite the defeat, Center got a solid performance out of Miessah Sagun, who scored 16 points along with seven rebounds. Madison Shirley Boudreaux was another key contributor, scoring four points along with 11 rebounds.
Meanwhile, Bear River lost to Marysville at home by a decisive 64-49 margin on Friday. Bear River has not had much luck with Marysville recently, as the team's come up short the last three times they've met.
Center's defeat dropped their record down to 9-12. As for Bear River, their defeat dropped their record down to 14-5.
Center lost to Bear River on the road by a decisive 58-40 margin in their previous matchup on January 3rd. Can Center avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
