The North Stanly Comets had already won three in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 35 points), and they went ahead and made it four on Friday. They enjoyed a cozy 33-16 victory over Mount Pleasant. This was payback for North Stanly, who suffered a 28-10 defeat the last time these two teams met.
Aden Allsbrook went supernova for North Stanly, rushing for 195 yards and three touchdowns on only 12 carries. Jay Jackson also deserves a shout-out for his two touchdowns.
North Stanly's victory was their fourth straight on the road, which bumped their overall record up to 7-2. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 34.8 points per game. As for Mount Pleasant, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 5-4.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. North Stanly will take on Albemarle at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Albemarle will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps North Carolina Rankings (they are ranked 245th, while North Stanly is ranked 119th). As for Mount Pleasant, they will look to defend their home field on Friday against Robinson at 7:30 p.m. Robinson will be coming into the contest with an undefeated record on the line.
