The Chavez Eagles will head out on the road to take on the Sherman Oaks CES Knights at 3:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Chavez will aim to continue their three-game streak of scoring more runs each game than the last.
Chavez had to skate by with only a one-run margin when they last took the field, which might have inspired the ten-run drubbing they dealt Arleta on Thursday. The Eagles blew past the Mustangs 12-2.
Xavier Salas made a big impact no matter where he played. On the mound, he pitched 2.1 innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than two hits in three consecutive appearances. He was even better at the plate, going 2-for-4 with three stolen bases, two runs, and two RBI. Those three stolen bases gave him a new career-high.

Chavez was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .517. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their batting average total in four consecutive matchups.
Meanwhile, Sherman Oaks CES entered their tilt with Fulton on Thursday with 18 consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with 19. They came within a single run of losing the streak, but they secured a 9-8 W against the Jaguars.
Sebastian Hamilton was a standout: he went 1-for-4 with one home run and three RBI. That home run was his first of the season. Another player making a difference was Brody Brooks, who earned two runs and four stolen bases.
Chavez's record now sits at 10-14. As for Sherman Oaks CES, their record is now 20-1.
The pitchers for both teams better look sharp on Wednesday as neither team is afraid to steal. Chavez has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 3.3 stolen bases per game. However, it's not like Sherman Oaks CES struggles in that department as they've been averaging 6.9 stolen bases. The only question left is which team can snag more.
