One round of playoff football has seen a number of ranked teams get bounced. But when you look deeper into it, it's not like those teams lost in upsets.
Four teams lost to teams ranked higher than them, so it's tough to drop them too far. If teams below them win again this weekend, then changes could be in order. Until that happens, there is a very small amount of change.

The
Braves started out the playoffs with a breeze, shutting out Cabrillo (Long Beach) 50-0. Seven different players ran the ball, and
Sean McGrew and
Josh Rosen had relatively light workloads in the blowout. They go to Norco on Friday.
2. (2) Centennial (Corona), 9-2

Ranks: 8 state, 21 national
The
Huskies played in one of the nation's best games last week, outlasting Serra 68-64 in a game that could be described as nothing other than exciting.
Greyson Bankhead caught six passes for 147 yards and two touchdowns, and
Javon Mckinley posted one of the nation's best stat lines: 14 catches, 240 yards and four scores. They face Mater Dei on Friday in yet another marquee matchup.
3. (3) JSerra Catholic (San Juan Capistrano), 10-1Classifications: Southern (Pac 5), State I

The
Lions won 55-16 over Santiago (Corona) in the opening round, picking off three interceptions on defense. The rushing defense also held the Sharks to three yards per rush. Bishop Amat is next up in the playoffs.
4. (4) Mater Dei (Santa Ana), 9-2

Ranks: 4 state, 9 national
The
Monarchs started the playoffs by beating Westlake for the second time this season, 28-7. Now they will try to beat Centennial for the second time this season as well on Friday. In the Westlake win, they ran 53 times for 214 yards, with
Adrian Contreras rushing 26 times for 173 yards and a touchdown and
Ben Humphreys hauling in a 46-yard touchdown pass.
5. (5) Long Beach Poly, 10-1Classifications: Southern (Pac 5), State I
Ranks: 9 state, 57 national
The
Jackrabbits showed that their Moore League schedule didn't cause them to lose their edge. They edged Servite, 34-33, to advance in the Pac 5.
Jeremy Calhoun ran 14 times for 86 yards and a touchdown, and
Josh Love completed 10 of 21 attempts for 204 yards and two scores. They face Crespi on Friday.
6. (6) Oceanside, 10-0Classifications: San Diego (Open), State I

The
Pirates open the Open Division bracket with a battle against Carlsbad, a team they
beat by 14 points in league play. They were off last week.

The
Celts ran all over Santa Margarita in a 45-13 rout, starting out with a 21-point first quarter and never looking back. The defense picked off two passes as well. They will battle Long Beach Poly this week.

Ranks: 7 state, 17 national
The
Lancers got a favorable matchup and won 47-18 over Lakewood.
Ryder Ruiz was very efficient at quarterback, completing 29 of 35 pass attempts for 410 yards and four touchdowns.
Tyler Vaughns rushed 13 times for 157 yards and a score. They face JSerra Catholic this week.
9. (9) Serra (Gardena), 8-3 *Season overClassifications: Southern (Pac 5), State I
Ranks: 13 state, 88 national
The
Cavaliers lost 68-64 to Centennial in a game that unfortunately had to have a loser.
Khalil Tate put up huge numbers passing (26 of 40 for 434 yards and four touchdowns) and rushing (22 for 166 yards and four touchdowns).
Caleb Wilson caught eight passes for 161 yards and two scores. They don't drop down because it was a great game, and because nobody immediately below them made a move.

10. (10) Cathedral Catholic (San Diego), 9-1Classifications: San Diego (Open), State I
Ranks: 12 state, 80 national
The
Dons are the No. 2 seed in the Open Division and will face Torrey Pines, a team they beat
8-7 earlier this season.
11. (12) Upland, 9-2

The
Highlanders had no trouble in a 42-7 drubbing of San Juan Hills, a game that was actually tied at halftime.
Tyler Hilinski completed 19 of his 22 passes for 294 yard and two scores.
Nathan Tilford ran 14 times for 202 yards and two touchdowns. They face Hart in the second round.
12. (11) Santa Margarita (Rancho Santa Margarita), 6-5 *Season over
Classifications: Southern (Pac 5), State I
Ranks: 14 state, 113 national
The
Eagles lost 45-13 at Crespi.
Kyle Sweet caught six passes for 137 yards and two touchdowns, and the Eagles got 48 rushing yards from
Dre Hall.
13. (13) Servite (Anaheim), 4-7 *Season overClassifications: Southern (Pac 5), State I
Ranks: 22 state, 198 national
The
Friars lost a 34-33 heartbreaker against Long Beach Poly, ending their season. A 4-7 record usually isn't what ranked teams bring to the table, and it's likely going to move the Friars down as the weeks go on.
14. (14) Westlake (Westlake Village), 8-3 *Season overClassifications: Southern (Pac 5), State I
Ranks: 18 state, 132 national
The
Warriors lost to Mater Dei for the second time this season, 28-7. The offense was held in check by the stellar Mater Dei defense but for Westlake,
Daniel Fox and
Jonathan Cruz each recovered fumbles.
15. (16) El Capitan (Lakeside), 11-0Classifications: San Diego (II), State III
Ranks: 15 state, 124 national
The Vaqueros had a bye. They face Mt. Carmel on Friday in their playoff opener.
16. (17) Alemany (Mission Hills), 7-3 *Season over

Ranks: 13 state, 76 national
The
Warriors didn't make the playoffs.
17. (19) Mission Viejo, 9-2Classifications: Southern (West Valley), State I

The
Diablos blasted Temecula Valley 42-6 in their playoff opener, moving their winning streak to nine. The rushing defense was amazing, holding Temecula Valley to minus-3 yards rushing as a team. Next up is Rancho Cucamonga.
18. (20) Tesoro (Rancho Santa Margarita), 9-2Classifications: Southern (West Valley), State II

The
Titans earned their third blowout win in a row, posting a 52-14 win over Newport Harbor. It was over quickly, as all 52 points came in the first half. Friday's game with Vista Murrieta should be a good test, as the Broncos are playing better in the second half.

Highlanders had the week off and will face Ramona, a team they beat 42-0 earlier this season.

Golden Knights stayed undefeated with a 49-14 victory over Mayfair. They move on to face La Serna in the second round of the playoffs.

Sea Kings had a bit of a battle against Tustin, breaking a 7-7 tie in the fourth quarter with 10 unanswered points. Senior
Cole Martin carried the ball 20 times for 116 yards and sophomore
Chase Garbers was 18-for-26 with 230 yards passing.
Bo St. Geme caught nine passes for 140 yards and a score. They face Trabuco Hills this week.

Grizzlies had the week off. The face Eastlake this week.
