It was a good run, but the Alhambra Moors unfortunately witnessed the end of their three-game winning streak on Friday. They fell 63-52 to Bell Gardens. The result was an unpleasant reminder to Alhambra of the 59-47 defeat they experienced in the two teams' previous head-to-head fixture on January 2nd.
Bell Gardens' victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Karen Ramirez, who scored 18 points along with eight rebounds and four steals. Ramirez hasn't dropped below 15points for four straight games. The team also got some help courtesy of Deanna Moore, who dropped a double-double on 14 points and ten rebounds.
Alhambra now has a losing record at 7-8. As for Bell Gardens, they now have a winning record of 10-9.
Alhambra will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against Mark Keppel at 6:30 p.m. Mark Keppel presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Alhambra in California (Mark Keppel is ranked 159th, while Alhambra is ranked 686th). As for Bell Gardens, they will head out on the road to square off against Montebello at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Montebello is coming into the game on a five-game losing streak.
