Make it 11 blowout wins for the Lecanto Panthers this season. They breezed by River Ridge at home to the tune of 85-34 on Wednesday. While fans of Lecanto might be used to big wins, the 51-point margin marked the team's biggest victory yet this season.
Lecanto found their leader in underclassman Jt Tipton, who scored 26 points along with seven assists and six steals. Tipton is trending in the right direction, as he's improved his point production for three games straight. Another player making a difference was Braylen Moore, who scored 17 points along with six steals.
River Ridge lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being JACOB HITCHCOCK, who scored seven points. THOMAS DELORETO was another key contributor, scoring six points.
Lecanto pushed their record up to 19-5 with that win, which was their fifth straight at home. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 69.6 points per game. As for River Ridge, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 4-15.
Lecanto will head out on the road to square off against the Wolf Pack at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. West Port will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Florida Rankings (they are ranked 447th, while the Panthers are ranked 207th). As for River Ridge, they will look to defend their home court on Friday against the Panthers at 6:00 p.m. That game will pit two of the most dominant guards against one another: Bryan Vargas and JACOB YEAGER.
