The Air Academy Kadets are taking a road trip to square off against the Discovery Canyon Thunder at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. Discovery Canyon took a loss in their last game and will be looking to turn the tables on Air Academy, who comes in off a win.
Air Academy proved they can win big on Wednesday (they won by ten) and on Friday they proved they can win the close ones too. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 7-6 victory over Liberty. The Kadets haven't had any issues with the Lancers recently, as the game was their seventh consecutive win against them.

Bailey Williams was a major factor while hitting and pitching. She tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs off three hits. Williams was also stellar in the batter's box, going 3-for-4 with one home run, five RBI, and two runs. The dominant performance also gave her a new career-high in doubles (two).
In other batting news, Keira Finkle was incredible, going a perfect 3-for-3 with two runs, one triple, and one stolen base. Alex Finkle was another key player, going 3-for-4 with three runs and two doubles.
Air Academy was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .469. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Liberty only posted a batting average of .321.
Meanwhile, Discovery Canyon lost 14-7 to Palmer Ridge on Wednesday. The Thunder haven't had much luck with the Bears recently, as the team has come up short the last six times they've met.
Discovery Canyon saw six different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Bella Holcomb, who got on base in three of her four plate appearances with one home run and two runs. Another was Taylor McCann, who got on base in three of her four plate appearances with two runs.
Discovery Canyon's loss dropped their record down to 6-10. As for Air Academy, their record is now 13-3-1.
Monday's matchup will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Air Academy hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .397. However, it's not like Discovery Canyon struggles in that department as they've averaged .332. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Everything went Air Academy's way against Discovery Canyon in their previous meeting on September 10th, as Air Academy made off with an 8-1 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Kadets since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
