Gunnar Akins was a major factor no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run and only two hits while striking out ten over four innings pitched. Those ten strikeouts gave him a new career-high. He was also solid in the batter's box, scoring a run while going 1-for-3.
In other pitching news, Tyler Richards looked comfortable as he tossed one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits.
