Andover has enjoyed the comforts of home their last two games, but now they'll head out on the road. They will face off against the Robbinsdale Armstrong Falcons at TBD on Saturday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
Andover had already proven themselves in the regular season, and didn't miss a beat now that it's playoff time. They breezed by Elk River at home to the tune of 65-32. This was one game where the offenses had no trouble playing at a high level.
Chase Pemberton had an outrageously good game as he threw for 329 yards and two touchdowns while picking up 12.2 yards per attempt, and also punched in three touchdowns on the ground. Luke Dehnicke also helped out as he racked up 101 receiving yards.
Meanwhile, Robbinsdale Armstrong took their game on the road on Friday with ease, bagging a 49-14 victory over Robbinsdale Cooper. Given Robbinsdale Armstrong's advantage in MaxPreps' Minnesota football rankings (they are ranked 34th, while Robbinsdale Cooper is ranked 97th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Andover pushed their record up to 9-1 with that victory, which was their fifth straight at home. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 58.0 points per game. As for Robbinsdale Armstrong, the win makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 8-2.
Everything came up roses for Andover against Robbinsdale Armstrong in their previous matchup back in October as the team secured a 42-7 victory. Will Andover repeat their success, or does Robbinsdale Armstrong have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
