The Woodcrest Christian Royals were the 29-18 winner over the Hemet Bulldogs when they last played one another back in December of 2022, but their luck changed this time around. Woodcrest Christian fell just short of Hemet by a score of 40-37. While losing is never fun, Woodcrest Christian can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 504th, while Hemet is ranked 210th).
Among those leading the charge was Glory Valencia, who scored 16 points along with 8 steals and 7 rebounds. She continues to roll, besting her previous point total in each of the last three games she's played. Ruby Lindsey was another key contributor, scoring 8 points along with 6 assists.
Woodcrest Christian now has a losing record at 2-3. As for Hemet, the victory makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 3-1.
Woodcrest Christian will play host again and welcome Nogales, where tip off is scheduled for 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Hemet is on the road again on Friday and play against La Sierra at 7:00 p.m. on December 1st. Hopefully La Sierra focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 27 on Wednesday.
