Millville is 9-1 against Benton since December of 2018, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Saturday. The Millville Quakers will be home for the holidays to greet the Benton Tigers at 7:30 p.m. Hopefully Millville focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 16 on Wednesday.
Last Wednesday, Millville came up short against Northwest Area and fell 49-38. Millville has struggled against Northwest Area recently, as their match on Wednesday was their third consecutive lost matchup.
Millville's defeat shouldn't obscure the performances of Larissa Evans, who scored 25 points along with three steals, and Abby Kakaley who scored eight points along with six steals. Evans scored a full 65.8% of Millville's points, the fifth time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points.
Meanwhile, Benton beat Midd-West 31-19 on Thursday. The win was just what Benton needed coming off of a 38-16 defeat in their prior matchup.
Millville now has a losing record at 2-3. As for Benton, they now have a winning record of 2-1.
Millville came out on top in a nail-biter against Benton in their previous meeting back in February, sneaking past 43-40. Does Millville have another victory up their sleeve, or will Benton turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
