The Tooele Buffaloes suffered their biggest defeat since November 30, 2023 on Wednesday. They suffered a rough 56-34 loss at the hands of Cottonwood. Tooele has not had much luck with Cottonwood recently, as the team's come up short the last four times they've met.
Tooele's defeat shouldn't obscure the performances of Kennedy Searle, who scored ten points along with two blocks, and Josie Kennedy who scored nine points along with 12 rebounds.
Cottonwood's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Ciel Budge, who scored eight points along with five assists and five rebounds. Ashlyn Tripp was another key contributor, scoring nine points along with eight assists and five rebounds.
Tooele has traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost three of their last four games, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-6 record this season. As for Cottonwood, their win was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 8-6.
Tooele will take on Murray at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Hopefully Murray focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up six on Wednesday. As for Cottonwood, they will head out on the road to take on Hillcrest at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Hillcrest is still on the hunt for that elusive first 'W'.
