On Friday, Faith Christian Academy was able to grind out a solid victory over Masterman, taking the game 42-33. The victory was all the more spectacular given Faith Christian Academy's disadvantage in MaxPreps' Pennsylvania basketball rankings (they are ranked 406th, while Masterman is ranked 191st).
When it comes to explaining why Masterman lost, one person who can't be blamed is Jocelyn Goldstein. Despite the final result, she scored 22 points along with seven rebounds and six blocks. That was a full 66.7% of Masterman's points, marking the 20th time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Sophia Brunelli, who scored 11 points.
Faith Christian Academy has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four matches, which provided a nice bump to their 9-6 record this season. As for Masterman, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 17-5.
